A Typical Day at Little Hummingbirds

Each day is thoughtfully designed to nurture independence, creativity, emotional well-being, and confidence — following a rhythm that feels both secure and inspiring for young children.

Morning: Warm Welcome & Montessori Exploration

Children arrive to a warm, gentle welcome and ease into their day with calm, open-ended play.

Each day, we focus on one Montessori curriculum area — such as Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Mathematics, or Culture — offering activities that encourage deep exploration and meaningful learning at a relaxed, child-led pace

Mid-Morning: Mindfulness & Outdoor Play

Before heading outside, we gather for a short mindfulness moment — a breathing exercise, a gratitude circle, or a sensory reflection — helping children center themselves, build emotional resilience, and connect as a community.

Then it’s time for outdoor play, where movement, fresh air, and social connections are celebrated.

Midday : Nourishment & Rest

After a healthy lunch, children enjoy time for rest, whether through napping or engaging in quiet, soothing activities. We honor each child's individual needs for downtime and reflection

Afternoon: FLIGHT-Inspired Creativity & Discovery

The afternoon opens into art, music, science, and storytelling, often based on the children’s own ideas and emerging interests.

This part of our day is deeply inspired by the FLIGHT Early Learning Framework, which values play, exploration, and the child's voice as powerful tools for growth.

Throughout the Day: Building Confidence & Celebrating Strengths

Every transition, interaction, and invitation at Little Hummingbirds is rooted in our Mental Health & Self-Confidence Pillars.

We nurture self-esteem, independence, empathy, and resilience — ensuring every child feels seen, safe, capable, and celebrated

We embrace the idea that every child is "smart" in their own way.

Through activities designed around the Eight Types of Intelligence — from music to movement, nature exploration to problem-solving — we recognize and nurture the unique strengths that make each child shine.

Whether a child learns best through words, numbers, pictures, music, nature, movement, deep reflection, or social connection, our program honors and uplifts all ways of being smart.

At Little Hummingbirds, every moment matters — because we’re not just preparing children for school, we’re preparing them for life.
